Breaking Benjamin & Staind Co-Headlined the Woodlands!

Breaking Benjamin & Staind co-headlined a show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Tx on October 24th, 2024 with support from Daughtry on their 2024 Tour!

Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band originating from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and was formed in 1999. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Benjamin Burnley, lead guitarist/programmer Jasen Rauch, rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist Keith Wallen, bassist/backing vocalist Aaron Bruch, and drummer/programmer Shaun Foist.

Breaking Benjamin has consistently dominated the rock charts since their debut in 2002 with “Saturate.” With ten #1 hits, platinum and multi-platinum albums, 8.5 billion streams globally, and a social following of over 6.5 million, they’ve solidified their global influence and devoted fan base. Their last release, “AURORA,” earned them their 10th #1 rock radio hit with “Far Away ft. Scooter Ward.” Their previous album, EMBER debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200, marking their fourth Top 5 debut. Their track record includes #1 hits like “Red Cold River” and “Torn in Two.” Both AURORA and EMBER achieved Top 10 status in multiple countries and #1 spots across various charts, including Top Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums and Top Digital Albums.

Kicking off their set, the band opened with “Failure” from “Dark Before Dawn” then followed with “Until The End” and “Red Cold River“. This ignited the audience’s energy and was a great way to start their set. A few songs later, they performed “Blow Me Away” from the Halo 2 soundtrack.

Fill up you lungs right now and make some noise for our brothers in Staind everybody! I really hope that they add more shows and I hope that we come back here for one of those shows because that would be badass. You guys have been doing probably the best job the whole fucking tour singing along nice and loud! I’m not even shitting you. ARE YOU READY FOR THE NEXT ONE! Let’s fucking do it!”

Breaking Benjamin continued to perform many hits such as “Breath” from their 2006 release “Phobia” and “Polyamorous” from their 2002 debut album “Saturate”. Also “Without You“, “Dear Agony“, and “I Will Not Bow” from 2009 “Dear Agony“. These were all played back to back.

“Houston, this has been one of the best if not the best show on this whole tour. I want to say a humongous sincere thank you for showing us out right man. This is fucking incredible. We love you. We’re grateful for this and we’re grateful for each and every one of you guys out there. That shit is real. That shit is from the heart. If I didn’t mean it I wouldn’t fucking say it. We love the shit out of you. We cannot wait to come back. Until we meet again, thank you guys for being so fucking awesome! WE LOVE YOU!”

After those heartfelt words, they concluded the evening powerfully with their mega hit “Diary of Jane“. Throughout the tour Breaking Benjamin and Staind had been swapping back and forth for the headline slot, but this night was their time to shine! They certainly did not disappoint and I’m sure their counterparts were very proud to see them in the spotlight after bringing them on their first tour many years ago. This was a highly memorable evening and a great concert to enjoy with your family and friends!

Staind is an American rock band originating from Springfield, Massachusetts and was formed in 1995. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist/backing vocalist Johnny April, and drummer Sal Giancarelli.

Over the course of their career, Staind has released eight studio albums and twelve top 10 singles, selling over 15 million albums worldwide. “Break the Cycle“, released in 2001 and RIAA certified 5x platinum, featured the smash single, “It’s Been Awhile,” one of the most played songs in modern rock radio history, spending 20 weeks at number 1. In 2023, Staind released their first studio album in twelve years, “Confessions of the Fallen“, which debuted number 1 on Billboard’s Rock Album chart, and spawned two number 1 singles at rock radio.

The nu-metal/alternative-rock icons started their set with their lead-off hit single “Lowest In Me” from their newest album “Confessions of the Fallen“. This was the first of a few songs off their latest release to be performed this evening. Following, was “Eyes Wide Open” off their 2011 self titled release and then “Fade” from their best selling album “Break the Cycle” with over 6.4 million copies sold worldwide! “Right Here“, also being wildly popular, was performed next from “Chapter V“.

One of the most emotional parts of the set was when they performed “Something to Remind You“. You can feel the pure raw emotion in Lewis’ voice as he serenaded the audience. This was one of many songs packed full of emotions. “Outside“, being another one of them, was performed a few songs later.

“This song goes out to all the fucking haters. I’m selling records motherfucker!”

“Wannabe” definitely wasn’t a song I expected for them to perform, but it felt right. I can’t say I remember them performing this particular song live here before. It was an interesting addition to the set to say the least.

Staind concluded their set with some of their biggest hits. “So Far Away“, “For You“, “It’s Been Awhile“, and finally the moment most of us had all been waiting for! Mr. April began plucking away at his bass strings taking us all the way back to their 1999 debut album “Dysfunction”. Most Staind songs are emotionally charged, but not quite like this one. You can feel the anger, torment, and pain despite what the lyrics say. This is a very powerful song and great way to bring things to a close.

Daughtry is an American rock band originating from McLeansville, North Carolina and was formed in 2006. It’s fronted by namesake Chris Daughtry, who was a finalist on the fifth season of American Idol. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Chris Daughtry, lead guitarist/backing vocalist Josh Steely, rhythm guitarist and lead guitarist/backing vocalist Brian Craddock, bassist Marty O’Brien, keyboardist Elvio Fernandes, and drummer/percussionist Jeremy Schaffer.
