Chance the Rapper headlined a show at Bayou Music Center in Houston, Tx on September 26th, 2025 with special guest Lil Flip on his And We Back Tour!
And We Back Tour marks Chance’s highly anticipated return to touring after some years, supporting his new hit album “Star Line“. The production, visuals, and set design really set the tone using themes inspired by his albums.
Chance speaking to the crowd:
“I wanted to make sure I picked a very special setlist and that I started right here in Houston.”
“Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time here. Houston has held me down for so many years. Thank you to all my friends that came out tonight. I want all the love to go to all my fans that came and sold this joint out. Thank you so much. It’s been a long six years.”
Starting his tour off right in Houston, the stage truly came alive with visuals bending color, a shifting light box, and karaoke style lyrics being prompted across the backdrop. The visuals were not just flashy, but intentionally synced to the emotional arcs of the set helping transitions from high-energy tracks to more introspective ones making them feel more cohesive.
The setlist included a heavy mix of Star Line tracks (with live debuts) as well as fan favorites from Coloring Book, Acid Rap, and other projects. Some of the more notable new songs performed include “Burn Ya Block,” “Draptomania,” & “The Highs & Lows“. He also divulged into some of his earlier hits and included a few surprise covers including “Ultralight Beam“. This helped with the flow of the momentum keeping the show dynamic.
Chance dedicating his album:
“I owe this whole album to women. Women in my life and women that I never even met.”
Rather than performing to the crowd, he performs with them. Expressing genuine gratitude, humorous banter, and emotional sincerity. His movement being sometimes playful and sometimes smooth. His stage presence helped keep the energy high, while still feeling very intimate.
And We Back Tour is off to a strong start with the makings of a show that lives up to its name. A bold return and reassertion, rather than just a safe nostalgic throwback. With the combination of strong visuals, a thoughtfully structured setlist (bridging new and classic material), and Chance’s emotional investment to his audience. This making it one of his more memorable tours yet.
Chance emotionally expressing his gratitude to the fans:
“I hope y’all feel the love coming back. This is pure. This is not because it’s a job it’s because I love doing this in front of y’all. Coming up on ten years ago, you guys elevated an independent artist all the way up to the GRAMMYS. That was y’all and I thank you. I love y’all and y’all love me. Y’all love music and I love music. We all we got.”
