Corey Taylor headlined a show at House of Blues in Houston, Tx on September 24th, 2023 with support from WARGASM (UK), and Luna Aura on his CMF2 World Tour!

Corey Todd Taylor is an American musician, songwriter, author and actor born December 8th, 1973 in Des Moines, Iowa. He is the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Slipknot, as well as the lead vocalist, guitarist, lyricist, and sole continuous member of the rock band Stone Sour.

His current lineup for his solo act consists of vocalist/guitarist Corey Taylor (himself), guitarist/backing vocalist Christian Martucci, guitarist/backing vocalist Zach Throne, bassist Eliot Lorango, and drummer Dustin Robert.

The band kicked off the set with “Post Traumatic Blues” as Corey Taylor belts out onto the stage in his sport jacket. CMFT is lit up across the stage with strobes flashing as the crowd is going wild.

Corey yells:

”Is everyone ready to party?”

They take it back to 2003 with Stone Sour’s “Tumult” for the second song of the evening. Corey steps to the mic having a guitar strapped with a Cherry Bombs sticker on the front supporting his wife’s group. For those of you unaware, Cherry Bombs bring an entire new way to experience rock and roll music. Combining daredevil arts with feminine power, fearless, and dynamic performances. Featuring dance, fire, aerial, grinding, stilt walking, and so much more.

The third song “Black Eyes Blue” is from his debut solo album “CMFT”. Afterwards was “We Are the Rest”, from the sequel album “CMF2”

Corey asks the audience to sing along:

”No way to beat me, no way to win!”

After playing Stone Sour classic hit “Song #3”, Corey teases the eager crowd:

”I’ll tell you what, Before I forget” and the screams open up, everyone knows what is coming next. Corey stops, picks his head up and says “No, I’m just kidding, but before I forget.” and the screams go again. “Before I forget, I want you to make some noise for our family that opened the show for us tonight, Luna Aura & WARGASM! Oh, ‘Before I Forget’, is the name of this next song.”

Following the fast paced heavy Slipknot track, he decided to take a less serious approach. As he proceeded to play the theme song of SpongeBob SquarePants!

Corey shouts:

”Are you ready kids?”

Immediately after bringing out the inner children from the metal crowd, he played the most intimate song of the evening “Snuff”. This soft slow paced song soothed the crowd and set everyone at ease for just a moment.

He closed out his set with three more Stone Sour songs, then encored with massive Slipknot hit “Duality” and Motörhead cover “Ace of Spades”.

Corey plays with the crowd before “Duality”:

“Oh yeah!” (Audience repeats) In a different tone, “Oh yeah!” (Audience repeats) In a seductive voice, “Ah yeah!” (Audience repeats) “You guys are weird! I want you all to stick your arm out like you’re driving, you’ve got one arm on the steering wheel. And I want you to nod, and I want you to go oh yeah!” (Audience repeats) “You are fucking ridiculous! Alright, repeat after me ‘I push my fingers into my eyes’!”.

Corey pays homage to the legendary Motörhead vocalist:

“I want you all to make some noise for the late, great, motherfucker of all times. Make some noise for Lemmy fucking Kilmister!”
