Dead Rabbitts & Stitched Up Heart provided support for Wednesday 13 at Warehouse Live Midtown in Houston, Tx on March 30th, 2025 on There’s No Such Thing As Monsters North American Tour!

Dead Rabbitts is an American metalcore band originating from Phoenix Arizona and was formed in 2011. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist Craig Mabbitt, guitarist Erik “Shredz” Jensen, bassist Colton Westerman, and drummer/percussionist Blake Bailey.

Mabbitt went back to the sound of his earlier work with groups like blessthefall and The Word Alive, incorporating elements of EDM to smooth out the band’s jagged metalcore edge.

The band’s fourth studio album, Redefined, was released on March 24th, 2025. Three words Mabbitt used to describe it were rebirth, rediscovery, & redefined. He said he wanted listeners to experience hope and to have brighter days when listening to the new album. Also expressing, if you learn to start appreciating the lows it makes the highs even greater. It’s very refreshing he not only wants to provide an invigorating new sound, but also has such a positive outlook.

Dead Rabbitts began their set with two tracks off their previous album “Rumination“, which were “Raisehell.exe” & “Dead By Daylight“. Following they performed “Artificial Gods” for the third song of their set. This was also the third single released for their newest album. Mabbitt stated that this was his personal favorite from the record. He wanted to experiment and do something a bit different. This was inspired by the Korn mashup album “Path of Totality“. His words were “that album fucking slapped so I wanted to do a similar style on at least one track from this record”. The next song “Mistake” was also off their latest release!

Mabbitt speaking about “Artificial Gods”:

“We get addicted to screens, manipulated by algorithms, misled by headlines for quick clicks. We willingly feed into systems that drain us of real human connection. Artificial Gods are not just ‘machines’, it’s the illusions of control and validation that we chase in an online world that’s often empty and hollow. Don’t be consumed by a digital void, question what we worship, what tries to control us and never stop searching for what’s real in a world that’s increasingly artificial.”

Mabbitt describing the first single,”Mistake”, off the new album:

“‘Mistake’ asks the existential question: Is what I’ve been putting my heart & soul into all worth it? Or is it pointless? Do I belong here? Or was it and I just a big mistake?”

They also played one of their deeper cuts “Dead Again“, from their sophomore album “This Emptiness“. Mabbitt proceeded to immerse himself into the crowd to perform “Hellscape” and was accompanied by Mixi from Stitched Up Heart. Their chemistry both on and off the stage is truly remarkable. Mabbitt returned the favor by joining Stitched Up Heart on stage for their first song “To the Wolves“, which is actually a collaboration with Escape the Fate!

Dead Rabbitts concluded their set with “Deer In the Headlights” off their 2014 debut album “Shapeshifter“.

Mabbitt speaking about “T/R/A/P/P/E/D:

“T/R/A/P/P/E/D is a reflection of the weight and imprisonment I’ve felt inside my mind. A darkness that led me into a battle with alcoholism and addiction. If you’ve been there, you know. It’s a fucking nightmare to escape. But once you do? Life gets a hell of a lot lighter.”
