Los Angeles chaos agents SQUID PISSER bring their warped fusion of hardcore punknoise rock, and grind to The End in Houston on August 28th as part of their Tumors Across America Tour.

Formed in 2020 by guitarist/vocalist Tommy Meehan (GWARCancer ChristDeaf Club) and drummer Seth Carolina(Starcrawler), Los Angeles’ SQUID PISSER have built a cult following with their feral live shows, unpredictable energy, and genre-defying blend of mathcore, noise rock, and punk.

There are concerts you attend, and then there are concerts you survive. Squid Pisser belongs firmly in the second category.

From the moment the Los Angeles noise-hardcore freaks hit the stage, any illusion of order went straight out the window. What followed was a relentless collision of distorted guitars, punishing drums, guttural vocals, electronic noise, and enough sheer sonic hostility to make the walls feel like they were closing in. This wasn’t simply a hardcore show, it was a full-blown sensory assault.

Squid Pisser has never been interested in playing it safe. Their music exists somewhere between grindcore, noise rock, avant-garde hardcore, and an industrial fever dream, and the live setting only magnifies that insanity. Tracks like “Dreams of Puke” and “Vaporize a Neighbor” hit with the kind of reckless velocity that leaves barely enough time to process what just happened before the next barrage begins. And that’s precisely the appeal.

The band’s chaotic exterior masks an impressive level of control. Beneath the feedback, shrieks, samples, and seemingly unhinged movements is a tightly locked-in machine.

There was no standing around waiting for the next song. Bodies collided, heads thrashed, and the lot transformed into a sweaty blur of movement. Squid Pisser thrives in that environment. Their music demands physical participation, turning the audience from spectators into another component of the noise. Even the quieter moments, if they can be called that, felt like the calm before another explosion.

The band’s absurdist aesthetic only adds to the experience. Squid Pisser takes the grotesque, the ridiculous, and the completely unhinged and turns it into an identity. But beneath the slime, puke, and wonderfully bizarre presentation is a band that understands exactly what makes underground heavy music exciting. Danger, experimentation, and absolutely no concern for convention.

By the time the final notes disappeared into feedback, the damage had been done. Squid Pisser didn’t simply perform a set, they detonated one.

In a musical landscape where chaos can sometimes feel manufactured, Squid Pisser delivers the real thing. It’s loud, filthy, uncomfortable, hilarious, aggressive, and completely unpredictable. And honestly? That’s exactly how it should be.

Squid Pisser isn’t here to make you comfortable. They’re here to make you feel something, and preferably make your ears ring afterward.
