Archspire headlined a show at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, Tx on May 16th, 2026 with support from Undeath, Crown Magnetar, and Mutilation Barbecue on the Long Roads Big Loads Tour!
There are metal shows that feel heavy, and then there are Archspire shows that feel physically impossible. On the “Long Roads Big Loads Tour,” Archspire once again proved why they’ve built a reputation as one of the most absurdly skilled live bands in extreme music. Backed by a stacked lineup featuring Undeath, Crown Magnetar, and Mutilation Barbecue, the tour delivered a nonstop barrage of blast beats, impossible riffing, and complete chaos from start to finish.
From the second Archspire hit the stage, the room immediately exploded into movement. Circle pits collided into one another while crowdsurfers continuously poured over the barricade, somehow matching the overwhelming speed coming from the stage. The band’s chemistry felt razor sharp throughout the night, with vocalist Oliver Rae Aleron unleashing his signature rapid-fire vocal delivery with terrifying precision. Watching him keep pace with the band’s impossible tempo almost felt unreal in person.
One of the biggest highlights of the night came from the newer material off Too Fast to Die, the band’s 2026 release that has already become a fan favorite among tech death listeners. Songs like “Carrion Ladder” and “The Vessel” translated perfectly live, sounding even more aggressive and punishing in a concert setting. Meanwhile staples like “Drone Corpse Aviator,” “Remote Tumour Seeker,” and “Bleed the Future” triggered some of the loudest reactions of the night. The setlist balanced technicality and chaos perfectly without ever losing momentum.
The crowd interaction added another layer to the experience. Despite the music’s sheer brutality, Archspire never takes themselves too seriously, and that humor carried through the entire performance. Between songs, the band joked with the audience constantly, creating a fun atmosphere that separated the show from the overly serious tone that some death metal tours fall into.
Support acts also made this package feel like one of the strongest extreme metal lineups of the year. Undeath brought filthy old-school death metal energy that had the crowd moving early, while Crown Magnetar turned the venue into pure destruction with crushing breakdowns and relentless aggression. Mutilation Barbecue opened the night with a raw, violent set that immediately set the tone for what was ahead.
At a time where many bands rely heavily on backing tracks or studio polish, Archspire continue to stand out because of how authentic and impossibly tight they sound live. Every sweep-picked run, gravity blast, and tempo shift landed with frightening accuracy. The “Long Roads Big Loads Tour” wasn’t just another death metal tour, it felt like witnessing musicians actively trying to push the limits of what humans can physically perform on stage. For extreme metal fans, this tour was a reminder that Archspire remain at the very top of technical death metal’s food chain. Loud, ridiculous, insanely precise, and somehow still fun as hell, the band delivered one of the most relentless live performances of 2026.
