The Weeknd headlined a show at NRG Stadium in Houston, Tx on August 30th, 2025 with support from Playboi Carti and Mike Dean on his After Hours Til Dawn Tour!

The Weeknd (Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and record producer born February 16th, 1990 in Toronto, Ontario.

According to NRG officials, The Weeknd is said to be the highest-grossing Black male artist to ever headline NRG Stadium! Also, notable for being the first tour by a Black artist to sell over 4 million tickets and the first by a Black man and Canadian artist to gross over $500 million.

The Weeknd returned to Houston for the first time since 2017, delivering a two and a half hour 40+ song spectacle that electrified fans. The production was pure cinema including masked dancers, a sci-fi dystopian stage, and a massive “Sexy Robot” by Hajime Sorayama.

A heartfelt moment occurred when he removed his glowing mask, smiled, and had an intimate moment with the audience, promising never to skip Houston again.

The Weeknd acknowledged to the crowd:

“It’s been too long, Houston. Way too fucking long. It’s my fault, you know. I gotta be honest, I didn’t think you guys would show up tonight. But every time I come to Houston, you guys show me so much love.”

Abel’s live vocals matched his studio recordings perfectly. Some highlights were “The Hills” accompanied by blazing towers of pyro, “Blinding Lights” triggering a full dance party around the stadium with LED lights sparkling on the wrists of his endearing fans, Playboi Carti features for “Timeless” & “RATHER LIE,” and a grand finale of fireworks for “Moth to A Flame“.

The After Hours Til Dawn Tour is one of the most ambitious, theatrical, and emotionally impactful live experiences I’ve ever witnessed. With its cinematic design, flawless vocal delivery, emotionally resonant moments, and nonstop hits, the tour is making historic waves while breaking venue records around the world solidifying Abel’s status as a global pop powerhouse. This tour masterfully intertwines music, visual artistry, and pure spectacle. Including a career spanning setlist with nuanced curation, structural evolution, new song debuts, and culminating in emotional crescendos. The stage production was immaculate with towering structures, symbolic props, and immersive lighting making a live experience that’s as cinematic as it was musical. I’ve truly never experienced a crowd sing and cheer with that much power and excitement before. This tour was not one to be missed!
